I keep thinking we need to get a new sofa and I'm not sure what style to get.  I've been seeing a lot of Chesterfield Sofas lately and I love the look of them.  It's such a classic piece that will work with modern and traditional design.

Mixing Prints

I've always thought that mixing prints is taboo, but then I run across a photo that has me totally second guessing everything.  I was perusing Tory Burch's blog today and saw this photo of Sarah Rutson at Fashion Week and I LOVED her outfit.  The leopard print along with the tropical print totally caught my eye and I can't stop thinking about it.  Not to mention, I really want her shoes.  Although, I'm not sure if I can pull off a mixed prints look with such class, I don't want people to think I got dressed in the morning with the lights off.  I do like Sarah's style and will have to check out some of her other looks.

Jonathan Adler

A few weeks ago, Jeff and I were eating lunch in the Pearl District in Portland and I noticed a Jonathan Adler store right across the street.  I was shocked because I hadn't noticed it before, but also thrilled.  We headed over there right after lunch to check it out.  Apparently it opened August 17th, so that made me feel better that I hadn't noticed it.  Now I can check that store off my shopping list the next time we are in New York City.  Here are a few of my favorites from the website.

Beni Ourain Rugs: The Look for Less

For quite a few months now I've been seeing Beni Ourain rugs everywhere.  These wool rugs are hand woven by the Beni Ourain tribe in Morocco.  The neutral colors seem to work well with any type of decor from traditional to modern.  Plus they just look so nice and soft.  These rugs are not cheap and so it's great there are some affordable options out there that won't break the bank.

My favorite one is the Souk Rug from West Elm.  I really want to get this rug. 

Another great option is from Anthropologie.

World Market has a version of this rug too.

These affordable options look so similar to the high end Beni Ourain rugs in the pictures below.
